Could Apple be slipping?

Most people will agree that Apple have been gaining massive market share with the iPhone since its release. This was mainly due to the huge advancements they made to the mobile/smartphone experience. However as the other players such as Samsung and HTC have evolved and updated their offerings over the last couple of years, it seems Apple have somewhat slipped behind in the race. This is clearly affirmed by Samsung recently taking out top position in global mobile sales.

There has been allot of buzz of late surrounding the next edition iPhone, however as an article by Businessinsider.com recently published suggests, if the latest round of allegedly leaked images of the new iPhone are anything to go by, could Apple be about to make a big mistake?
